Our History



Start with a small, local service.

Founded in 2005 by Jason Lydford, a Microsoft Certified Professional. Working as the company’s only Technical Support Engineer (from a dining room table at home – much to the annoyance of his wife) serving both residential and business customers. In those early few months, we had no idea how far we would go, we weren’t even sure that we would be able to survive a full year. However, we were driven by the determination to provide a “No nonsense and hassle-free” IT service that no one else was providing.


First employees.

By 2007 we were growing, we needed an office as we had severely outgrown the dining room table! We started scouting for a new location and were offered a small room “in-house” at one of our customer locations. It was here that we started to employ staff.  Another Technical Support Engineer and a Receptionist/PA.  We continued to serve the local area of both residential and business customers, taking our first fledgling steps into the world of Managed Service IT Support.


Rapidly growing.
Within a few short years, we had moved to modern offices, had expanded to 10 employees and were a fully certified Microsoft Partner. With a good team of Engineers, Accounts, and Admin Staff our client portfolio was growing rapidly.  Our shift had moved completely away from the residential market, and we concentrated solely on the business marketplace.  Additional services such as cloud computing, backup, and disaster recovery began to become included in our every growing portfolio of IT services.


10 Year Anniversary, Continuing to Grow.
2015, our 10-year anniversary and we continue to grow at a fantastic rate.  New clients coming through the door thick and fast, our Managed IT Service has matured and we are starting to add even more additional services such as Managed Anti Virus and IT Security.  2015 also brought our first CR baby, Jude!


A new challenge.

Our journey has again brought us to new offices. Based on a technical science park with excellent facilities. Our team is ever growing with the addition of dedicated marketing and business development. A strong focus on IT security and cloud computing have enabled us to stay at the cutting edge of technology. in 2017 we also welcomed another CR baby to the family! Olivia.


Cyber Security Specialist

As IT moves on, Cyber Security has become more and more important. A dedicated Cyber Security Division has been launched. Emphasis on client employee training, GDPR and Cyber Essentials.


Cyber Security Continues to Grow Rapidly

As we move in 2020, the need for a specialist Cybersecurity division becomes even more apparent.  Every day Cybercriminals are targeting small businesses across Kent.  Our dedicated team is utilising all of the latest available weapons to reduce the significance of Cybercrime for our clients.  From IP Blocking, Vulnerability Testing and Dark Web Scans, through to Cyber Training, additional Cyber certification, and monitoring.  CyberSecurity continues to grow at an alarming rate. 2020 also brought with it another CR baby! This time it was the turn of Ollie.


Further Expansion and new offices in Faversham, Kent

With the pandemic raging across the world during 2020/2021, the business IT landscape in Kent changed almost overnight.  As people started to come to terms with the effects of COVID-19, not only personally but in their working environment, Computer Rescue stepped up to help businesses in Kent continue to work and deliver their products and services.  Whether through remote working, the utilisation of additional cloud-based technologies or simply adding extra support.  We are proud to say that clients using Computer Rescue for their IT Support in Kent, were able to continue to offer a very close to normal service to their customers.  As a direct result of continued growth, we made the decision to strengthen our position as one of Kent’s leading IT Support companies and expanded with new offices in Faversham, Kent.  Helping to better serve Small to Medium-sized businesses in East Kent.
